Early Experiments with native iOS text drawing

Ideally I would like to switch to native iOS (xCode) for development. iOS has some amazing font systems, but the issue is that they are optimized for one time layout and rendering. What I need is to be able to dynamically create text, but the performance sucks to create a full screen of text every frame at 60 fps...

The first 3 are experimenting with drawing letters using a curve, down the road I can see could see this coming in handy. The second 3 are drawing within a shaped frame and having the text draw system justify against a shape that i define.

Both are cool, and will be useful for sprinkling in some magic, but what I really need to figure out is how to only draw only the sections of text that have been updated
